From Beau to Business Partner: 521 Automotive

If you started dating a mechanic, you’d probably think you hit the jackpot in terms of practical benefits: free car repairs! Mariah might have felt that way when she started dating Bill. But when her car first presented an issue, Bill said, “I’ll bring home the tools, and you can fix it!” The rest is history: both for Mariah and Bill’s relationship AND for the Automotive shop they own together.

As their relationship matured, Bill and Mariah meshed their strengths to support each other in starting an automotive business on the side. But, it didn’t take long for their clientele to grow to the point that the side job was a main source of income. They grew and grew, ultimately expanding into a great location in Mesa that we had the pleasure of helping them find. Somewhere in the middle of it all, Bill and Mariah were married. Their wedding date, 5.21, is a very fitting name for the remarkable business they’ve created: 521 Automotive.

Finding this most recent location was a bit of a crazy time: with little warning, Mariah and Bill were told they needed to vacate from the shop they were working out of. With the pressure on, the lack of real estate inventory for auto shops was discouraging. But ever the hope-filled warrior, Amy found something that could work. She worked with Mariah and Bill to really sell their proposition to the landlord and followed up relentlessly. In the nick of time, Mariah and Bill secured the lease and were able to keep the heart of the business pumping.
